Rebel's Memorial Blog
Keeping Rebel's memory alive and connecting with others whose pets have been murdered
Entry for January 7, 2007

My darling Rebel, as we approach the one-year anniversary of your life being taken away, I feel your dieing breaths still on my cheek.  I ache for you each day.....I cry for your young life being murdered.  I remember your goofy antics and miss the smile you brought to my life.  Rex mourned for you, his brother and littermate for months, as he recovered from the wounds he received the same day your life was maliciously taken.

Evil won that day, but I swear to you,  he will pay for what he did.  There are those around the world praying for justice, and we will prevail.

As I start this blog, I hope to hear from others whose pets were unjustly murdered and hope we can bond and find common ground.  I hope we can come together to make laws stricter, more defined and more justified for those of us who love our pets like family (those of us who bring them into our homes and love them unlike those who stake them to trees and merely sustain them).

Dear Rebel,

I met your mom today at the RainbowsBridge web site, and we had a long chat about you. I know how special you are, and I will do everything in my power to bring light to the tragic way in which your life on earth came to a screeching halt.

You were far too young, far too full of life, and far too good a dog to ever have faced such an untimely and violent end. You should have lived to see countless generations follow in your galant footsteps.

Watch over my Bridge Kids, Rebel, and be sure to say hello to my dog, Long John Lennon. I felt the two of you meet simultaneously, as your Momdog and I met each other today.

Run free among the angels, and watch over us as we fight for your right to have your life mean something to animals and the people who love them.

Rebel, you are a hero forever.

It's hard to imagine anyone doing such a cruel thing to a helpless animal. It's especially hard when it appears the law won't help because one of their own seems to be involved.
I don't hold out much hope for justice but know that we care .
Rebel, What a beautiful dog you are !! You deserved better.
If you want a petition signed , let me know.
Elly.

Dear friends,
I am so sorry that you lost such a precious love so tragically. Rebel is beautiful and is now free from pain as he goofs around at the Bridge with all of our kids.
It is sad that evil wins sometimes, it is not right. I can only tell you this , that judgement day will come and those responsible will pay for their crimes.
Rebel, your mommy misses you very much, please send her a sign to let her know that you are free now and that you are with her always.

To Rebels fur parents,
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is heart breaking to loose a fur kid at all, let alone to have them shot. I can only hope that some day, justice will find this person (who cannot be called a man, for that is something he is not).
My heart goes out to you and you have my prayers for a bighter day one day and for a beautiful reunion at RB when the time comes for you to be with your Rebel once more.
What goes around comes around, remember this and know that if not in this world he will reap what he has sown in the next and he will be punished for his crimes.
As for Rebel, sweet boy, may you always watch over your mom and dad and your fur family too. May you find the peace you so deserve and may you run with the wind and fly high on the summer breeze, soaring through the Heavens with all your new friends there. I hope that you have found my Zak, who left for RB nearly 1 year ago and my Harley who has been there for 2.5 years now. Be happy young Rebel, be free.
May the light of the angels shine on you always.
Zara
